About this editorial team
Jonas Vandenberghe has written about Belgian gambling sites since 2020 and works through every operator himself with payouts and KYC as a constant point of attention. Base: Gent.
How we test. we create a player account ourselves, deposit via Bancontact, start a withdrawal and keep an eye on the clock. We check the operator against the Gaming Commission's white and black lists and go over the small print word by word.
The site runs on affiliate income; the assessment is not altered by it. An operator without a Belgian licence is described as such, commission or not.
Weekly limit, age bar and exclusion
The Belgian legislator approaches player protection above the European average in strictness and you feel it on the first deposit. On any licensed site the weekly limit defaults to €200. Dropping that limit is possible at any moment, raising happens neither easily nor instantly.
The EPIS system is the regulator's central exclusion list: the exclusion applies instantly across the whole licensed landscape. The request goes through the regulator itself. For casino, gaming hall and betting the bar has been 21 since September 2024; scratch cards and Lotto stay at 18. The bar is statutory, not a house rule.
